Actually, it sounds a lot like a Bread song, specifically a David Gates composition called "It Don't Matter to Me" (look it up on this site). They share some musical similarities, though they ARE about different things and go in completely different directions.

It caught my attention enough to go look up the artist's work. And the video makes sense, if you consider that it seems to be depicting Saito in "non-songwriter" mode. He's looking at one deeply, but not "speaking" what's in his heart.
