The Federation of Garment Workers introduced us to people who work in the export garment industry. They told us about their long hours, low pay, and physical and verbal abuse at the factories.

The Begun Bari slums are situated above the sewage and garbage of Dhaka. One small corrugated room per family and one 'kitchen' per 200 people. Since the visit there have been hunger riots by workers who have not been paid for over three months.
