http://www.alterisinc.com NY solar contractor Fred Fields checks in with Alteris customer Michael Shilale to learn how his 4KW solar electric system has impacted his business' bottom line.

Shilale, a LEED accredited architect in Rockland County, NY, explained that his solar pv array has offset about 35% of his office's electric bill and has already reduced CO2 emissions by over 11,000 pounds. The MSA architects' office, which also utilizes a rainwater harvesting system and high performance lighting, is a shining example of energy efficiency and green strategies.

The solar installation included a web based data monitoring system that the customer uses to check on his solar system's performance. Shilale says that he posts the monitoring data on his website to show his customers the benefits of using renewable energy, and that it is a valuable marketing tool for his business.

Fred Fields, a solar energy specialist operating out of Alteris' Rockland County, NY office, helps homeowners go solar in New York's Rockland, Putnam, Ulster, Orange and Westchester Counties.
