This clip of Santana shows them playing "When I Look Into Your Eyes" from the Welcome Album during 1973 this was broadcast on a italian tv show during 1973 but i am not 100%sure about. It's the concert in rome to palazzo dello sport in 12 december 1973,registred for RAI and used after in a program.

  • There's not alot of live footage of Leon Thomas...this is great....

  • ¡¡¡Qué temazo...!!!

  • This looks like the studio recording is added to the video; probably just as well if the audio on the video is shoddy.

  • @stoofbuis totally. what a shame he doesn't realise this.

  • @stoofbuis Santana, Abraxixs,& 3 The best three santana Albums ever ! Caravansaeri Is tied with the first ! The 3 you mentioned are good [Good for sleeping] lol Peace !

  • until there's the right voice for Santana's there's the guitars chords to sustain the melody, however this is a great classic tune....

  • @mjnmjd, I agree. This is one of my all time favorites.

  • That's Leon Thomas on vocals! Great song, great album!

  • Pharoah Sanders singing lead for Santana on Welcome 1973 - When I Look Into Your Eyes. The collaboration was short-lived but Pharoah was my all time favorite vocalist with the band.

  • What made Santana Welcome so great is the mixture of jazz, latin, and rock. One of the best albums ever recorded by the Santana Band. (My favorite parts on this track? Michael Shrieve's drumming, Richard Kermode on the Fender Rhodes Piano, and the percussion section of Jose "Chepito" Areas and Armando Peraza.)
