Leonardo Defilippiss latest one-man stage production, VIANNEY, opens amidst the chaos of the French Revolution, a time which mirrors the secularization, materialism and anti-religious sentiment of our own day. Against this dramatic backdrop, a simple ignorant peasant priest enters the backwater town of Ars, a place where no one cares much about their faith, or sees the Church as particularly relevant. They dont expect much out of John Vianney.
This was a great performance. I saw it twice it was that good. We had the Relic of St. John Vianney in Vancouver at the same time the play was being presented and it brought an amazing realism to the experience. Vianney was with us and his message was not lost on anyone in the audience. God loves us so much, He lets his saints come to give encouragement and hope in this secular, cold and selfish world.
Thank you Leonardo and company. You all do excellent work! God bless you!
