In my case, I had a 2 year contract period when I changed my ISP.
Since the contract period has ended, I can now, without penalty, cancel my account and return the modem, filters, other hardware and all documentation in the original packaging within a 3 month time period. I am staying with this ISP though.
If you were in a contract period, I am sure the penalty, if any, would be waived due to a lack of normal service on their part.
I'm glad you got that sorted Lloyd. I'm just waiting to see if they try to claim money due to my cancelling. I have all the proof I need and they don't have a leg to stand on. ♥
I would most definately have similar thoughts - given the situation.
Recently, my former cable company - THE last privately owned cable co. in Canada was sold to Rogers. They, Pogers Cable, charged me an installation fee after the purchase and I called them and I do not have to pay a $100.00 connection fee. !! Gotta stand up to these companies if they reduce service or overcharge.
We were fine with the modem until it broke and they gave us the wireless router Lloyd. That was fine until we had the telephone problem. After waiting the 8 weeks to repair the phone, I rang and gave them a piece of my mind. Within 10 mins of asking for a supervisor, the phone was fixed, but the Internet problems began. I refuse to allow them to mess me about any longer! ♥
I would do exactly the same thing after all those problems and ADDED expense.
I recall that when I signed up for this ISP, I had yo return FOUR modems to them. They finally extended a NEW wireless modem to all customers at no extra cos..
I have not had a modem problem since then. My ISP spent a lot of money on these modems, but, has actually benefited due to savings in other parts of their business.
Hi Lloyd. We had a problem with incoming calls and they re-directed them to our mobile. This took 8 WEEKS to solve and then the connection peoblems began. We have wireless connection and it should'nt be happening. I've bought filters. an adapter, had an engineer (paid for) to fix the wireless router and bought a new PC. They just keep reducing my signal, so I've arranged a takeover! Had enough now, so the contract with them is null and void. ♥
Been driven crazy with this Lloyd. My ISP had me change filters. buy an adaptor, got an engineer to reset the wireless router and check PC, then eventually got a new PC. STILL the signal drops and cuts me off. A new ISP is my only choice now!
DRUGS. I would love to see that in a window in 2012.

It almost seems like the telephone line is needing replacement somewhere.-.
If I notice an interruption of the type you mentioned , my telephone provider (also my ISP0 asked me to let them know.
Do you also have telephone difficulties?

Oh, I would have to pay lyric use, music use and other royalties.
Hmm. I think I'll forego getting a "recording contract" -LOL
I will sing again.
I was to sing with Jean, . I have not heard from her.
So, I'll sing a song. Both Em and Jan sent some background music to use.
