Can't believe I just discovered this guy on a documentary. What a great musician...what an inspirational story!

I too just heard of this fellow via PBS. Seems like a really nice guy, and an obvious talent.

You are funny! In picking nits you miss key points. Please note I said "Some of us..." not "only one of us...", that is, I was speaking in the plural. There are thousands who play Uke, but none play exactly the same as any other. Same with cars. No two with that talent do it the same way. Their individual talent is uniquely their own.

I play guitar, but even with my God-given talent I had to practice, and learn from others with it.

If you know what you are talented at, thanx for doing it!

I really don't want to turn this into a religious argument I just got peeved off by whoever posted that comment. You say the talent is uniquely our own? But.. there is more than one person who can play the ukulele well. There is more than one person who can fix cars well. That is flawed logic.

The answer is practice and education not some blessing.

I'm sorry, but I don't understand your complaint. In what way is expressing gratitude self-righteous? In what way does a person saying "thank you" translate into them being an all-powerful entity who requires your supplication? I tell you, God has blessed us ALL with a talent that is uniquely our own. Some of us play wicked ukelele, some of us fix cars brilliantly...What talent did God give YOU that is all your own???

Being a musician of similar (but not quite as good) talent, I thank God that he gave me the talent to play guitar and the time I needed to develop that talent through practice!!! And I thank God that God gave Young Master Jake the basic talent he needed and the time he needed to practice to be this good...simple practice without basic God-given talent does not produce this level of excellence. AND I thank robynsanaturelover for saying it first!
