Usually police checkpoints look for drunk or unlicensed drivers but in Alameda County the Sheriff conducts unique checkpoints in a effort to can driver illegally using disabled placards..

  • question if it is in the vehicle but not being used and the person it belongs to is not in the vehicle does it still get confenscated, my grandpa leaves his in my truck cause i always take him places

  • using a Placard that does not belong to anyone in your vehicle.... The Placard goes with the individual and not the Vehicle.  Plain and simple!

  • @TVman1981 my dad uses a plaque, but he is not handicaped in canada bc, do u know if using a plaque their is illeagal if your not handicapped yes? or no? i am not sure, all i know is that canada and the states have diferent rules.

  • @Angerfist2 jail time for misdemeanors is usually for the worst (or often repeated) cases. but nice heavy fines get the deterrent message across just as easily. How do they handle similar crimes in your country? With kisses and handholding?
