There are a lot of would-be conservative positivists out there slamming Mitchell's critical outlook of the world around us. But it's always happened throughout history. We tend to want to shut honest people up. Galileo, Darwin, Copernicus, just to name a few.
Like Bill Hicks puts it so elegantly, Lennon is assassinated and we got Barry Manilow putting out hit albums.
They want to tell us about the fallacy and delusion of the lives we lead, and because we don't like the truth, we slam them.
