My opinion on the US music industry and The New African music scene. This is where African music is going: Kanye West signed an African artist named D'Banj, Snoop Dogg recorded a song and video with D'Banj, The 2011 BET Awards added an African category, BET now has an International Department and Tuface Idibia, an African artist from Nigeria, was a guest on The Mo'Nique show. This is all happening currently!!! America needs to WAKE up and realize that the US music industry is DEAD. People are thirsting for something new. Why not experiment with different cultures to find a new sound?

My theory is not only will Werrason get more exposure but that Rihanna will gain an even larger fan base in Africa. Rihanna has already mixed Pop music with Reggae and it's working for her. Imagine blending Rihanna's music with African music. This is an opportunity to get two outstanding artists together to create a new HOTNESS! Werrason is on the same scale as Rihanna in the Congo as far as fame goes. Rihanna doing a duet with Werrason will get her concerts in Africa and will boost her CD sales globally. I'm sure that Rihanna never even got the memo, so she has no idea that Werrason wants the duet. (So this is, in no way, a Diss to Rihanna personally. I'm referring to her Management team).

Music (in play order):
Rihanna "Man Down" - DJ AL D Remix
Tiffany ft. Castro "Last One"
Werrason "Techno Malewa" Remix

  • Gracie, most of these Western and Caribbean cats are ignorant and misinformed about Africa. They think poverty, hunger and flies defines us! Resource-wise,they are failing to realise Africa is where its at,and where its gonna be for a long while! Rihanna better ask the top Jamaican artists flooding into countries like Zimbabwe every other month. Her loss! Or perhaps they think Igwe is just a urry-come-up artist with no following trying to capitalise on her celebrity/fame? They better recognise!

  • Fally Ipupa's song chaise electric

  • @elijahtonton You can't just say someone's wrong period. Elaborate your points, and power frase your reasons, that's why we go to school. Try to make as sense as possible.

  • As far as I now Werrason, this will make Rihanna very popular in Africa's great lakes region plus central and west Africa even to those who never wanna give their ears to american music (because thy are there). Refer to Fally's chaise electric with Oliva, to be sincere that pulled my attention towards G-unit music but most people wont know...

    Mbambi Bodry Kuhanda.

  • Girl u're wrong.

  • please don't ruin African music by putting Rihanna with one of Africa's greats.

    Thanks,

    The people of Africa

  • Good work..
