Kawasemi - Kingfisher cut - A kesa (downward diagonal) cut is performed on the top of the target. A gyaku kesa (upward diagonal) cut is done on the bottom of the target and the severed piece is cut in two with a suihei (horizontal) cut before it falls

  • Hahaha, I was going to say: "damn! this guy's a demon if slowmotion displays him that fast!"

  • Dayum!

  • kawasemi is the name of the pattern not from what side it starts. Same with mizu gaeshi, doesn't matter what side you do it, as long as the pattern is correct.

  • That is not kawasemi. That's Mizu Gaeshi with kesa first.

Kawesemi Begins Migi Kesa, then hidari kiriage and migi yoko. Those are the two differences between Mizu and kawesemi, they start from different sides.

  • Very Nice!!!
