A Bloomsburg University student is in the hospital after sucker punch knocked him to the ground. The whole thing was caught on camera and now police are using that video to find the person who delivered the punch.

Surveillance video shows a fight that took place around 2 a.m. Friday on Main Street in Bloomsburg. The camera captures two men in front of some stores. After a few exchanges one man hits the other. The blow knocks the man to the ground. Then the man who threw the punch took off, leaving victim unconscious on the ground.

"Its a college town and these things happen almost daily even if it's not caught on surveillance. So it's just not surprising at all," said Bloomsburg University student Katrina Bradley.

Police said the victim is a 21-year-old Bloomsburg University student. He was sent to the hospital. There is no word on his condition.

Now investigators are trying to figure out who threw the punch.

"Most students aren't like that. It only takes one or two incidences like that to happen every once in a while and it sheds that light on students," said Bloomsburg University student Alex Keeler.

The fight was caught on Jeff Lylo's cameras in front of his jewelry store on Main Street.

"It's a really nice town and when things like this happen, I hope it doesn't give the town a bad image cause its a really good town. It would be a shame to get that out," said Lylo.

The Bloomsburg police chief said the video shows both men come out of a pizza shop. Now they want to know what happened in the moments before the punch.

"You certainly see the antics that took place on the street but yet we are not sure what happened inside. So we think the video footage is critical in successfully investigating an incident like this," said Chief Leo Sokoloski.

Bloomsburg police are asking anyone with information on the person who punched the student to call the department.
