gays already have all the same rights that marriage offers available to them through contracts and legal arrangements. This is not about gay rights. It's about guilt and pride. These people have chosen a way of life that differs from main stream society and now they want society to change so they are no longer different. If you don't want to life the standard lifestyle, don't. But try to change the standard at everyone else's expense just to feel that your way is normal.

I'm not religious but I frown on the fact that people are trying to socialize the faith and beliefs of millions of people. Marriage is a religious sacrament, take religion out of "marriage" and it's got no basis or reason to exist. Yes a lot of people are gay and there will be gays until the end of mankind, but you chose an alternate lifestyle, so stop being selfish. Two people of the same sex cannot have kids, and should have no right to dictate what should be shown to everyone else's children.

The Bible may say that homosexuality is a sin, but in places it also advocates slavery, forbids wearing clothes of two kinds of thread and says that no one may contact a woman during her period. We have moved on from that, why is homosexuality different?
