Bread for the World, a non-profit that seeks to build the political will to end hunger and poverty, is sponsoring a call-in day to ask that the United States honor its commitments to fight global poverty by increasing the amount of poverty-focused development assistance to $2 Billion over last year's levels in the Foreign Operations Appropriations Bill. Making a call is easy and effective - watch as Matt Newell-Ching, Western Regional Organizer at Bread, calls in to Senator Ron Wyden's office. Don't get me wrong or anything. I think it's awesome what your trying to do, but as for my own opinion we should worry for ourselves and our fellow americans

Is this some kind of joke? We can't even end the poverty in our own country damn near end it in other countries. If anything we should try to fund for housing for the homeless, or better yet come up with some kind of universal health insurance for the people that can't afford it. *sigh*
