@otter46544 yeah when i was a kid i called them gardener to then i was eventually told it was garder and now im told they are called garter =S

Yes it is garter. I listed in an earlier post an entire list of other common names for the garter snake and garder was among them. Actually when I was a kid I called them gardener snakes. Just another variation of the name of the same snake.

Yeah true, he was a harmless garden snake he tied to bite me but he didnt have the teeth it was merely self defence some snakes imitate rattle snakes but arnt poisonous.
