@nskkk1 Remarks like that are rude and you are incorrect. Starz was offered TEN TIMES THEIR PREVIOUS CONTRACT PRICE ($300,000,000) and turned it down. Starz previously ran Vongo, which was a digital streaming service. It failed. This has nothing to do with Netflix original programming. STARZ wants to have more original programming, but that didn't impact their relationship with netflix.
@xaj0x , you are moron. You know what is funny? When Netflix was starting and Albrecht was still at HBO he wanted to buy Netflix and I think he would do it if he wasn't out of HBO. The problem is that Netflix is starting to produce original programming and it will be pay-premium channel so they will be another opponent for Starz. Starz wanted raise, Netflix declined, end of story.
How handy of you to stab Netflix in the back, former HBO CEO. You WANT streaming to fail, you've proved that already. "The streaming model is one that was going to undermine [Starz], instead of enhance it." I'm ashamed I live in the same state as you! (That is, when you're not in your many vacation homes or flying to trade shows and drinking excessively...)
@xaj0x I thought he explained the decision pretty well in the video: it's not about streaming vs. no streaming, it's about a premium tier.
