Questions are answered regarding EPA's new Renovation, Repair and Painting Program Final Rule (40 CFR Part 745) which goes into effective 4/22/2010. This rule requires many contractors that disturb Lead-Based Paint (or assumed Lead-Based Paint) in Homes and Child Occupied Facilities built before 1978 to be EPA Certified to use Lead Safe Work Practices. EPA initially estimates that 236,000 individuals will need to be trained with penalties of up to $32,500 per violation for non-compliance. Lead-Based Paint is a poison and once in the body, lead can have SIGNIFICANT effects on human health for children and adults.

Visit www.epa.gov/lead/pubs/training.htm or www.chem-scope.com for more information.

The presenter in this video is EPA Approved Lead RRP Instructor Scott Arena from Chem Scope, Inc (Environmental Consulting & Training Firm located in North Haven CT) and the video was filmed at Murphy Brothers Contracting (at a monthly meeting in Mamaroneck NY)
