  • Had Smile been released in 1967 it probably would have smoke Sgt Pepper. Brian Wilson was at the forefront of the psychedelia movement. He is a genius.

  • This kinda reminds me of the Yellow Submarine cartoon!

  • Paul McCartney is a huge fan of Brian Wilson

  • If you are a true Beatles fan you would know that Pepper came about when Paul heard Pet Sounds and was inspired to do something similar to what Brian had accomplished AND if you are a music fan you would understand that BOTH The Beatles and The Beach Boys were two of the greatest groups that ever lived by deciding to change music with their creativity and to inspire new generations of musicians.

  • @shulamit1991 Catch A Wave by Peter Ames Carlin and The Nearest Faraway Place by Timothy White are the two best ones out there. Don't bother with Wouldn't Be Nice-It was ghostwritten, and Brian has disowned it.

  • I guess Brian was trying unconsiousely to creat a "broadway musical", if you hear the songs you'll see that they can't stand alone as a good "pop tune " .But the whole album creats an atmosphere of a "musical" with all the orchestrations and stuff . don't get me wrong but what Brian had already been done tons of times .The Beatles took better chalenges for always coming up with great "pop standards" in diferrent styles .

  • @MattHatter i think the only concept thing about Pepper is Paul coming up with the concept itself. if that's makes sense lol

  • @pmoyer50 You never know that.
