@rua4d4 After watching the DVD "race to Dakar", one would do well to realize that the BMW was quite unreliable.

Most people don't know this but driving behind the bmw x5 is a toyota landcruiser...in case the x5 breaks down or it gets stuck...no differential lock, low range gear, height control, etc...haha

great recovery mate! Getting my F 650 GS Dakar this spring and yes, it's my first bike that I'm willing to make payments on. All others were under 2k and loved and sold. I can hardly wait. J Baber

i love my SPORT X5 4.6.. but BMW should have made a offroad edition for the public too :(

If it's an auto that probably won't help,
Land Rover FTW though on stuff like this....

This is not one of the cars used by the BMW tem X-Raid, now they are using X3, and the X5's they used some years ago are the ones without the facelift.
