(Historical Note: After a stalemate battle in 1838, the Comanches vs Cheyenne, the Cheyenne, to conclude a peace, gave the Comanches a dance called the "Arrow Dance" where the dancers shook whole quivers [sometimes], a bunch of arrrows, or sometimes a single arrow. Later, around the late 1800's, a Dutchman, who wrote in French, named Herman Ten Kate, visited the Comanches and recorded them doing the Tu-whee (Black Knife) dance of the Black Knife warrior society; the Gourd Dance of the Teda.puku.nu or Little Pony warrior society; and other dances. The Little Ponies maintain they received the Gourd Dance from the Cheyenne in 1838. This was separate from and had nothing to do with the Kiowa gourd dance. In a like manner, the Poncas and Comanches concluded a treaty, that was never broken; when the Ponca's gave the Comanches the rights to use the Straight Dance.)
