my first one- shot. The idea came to me so enjoy
The last breath- one shot

Part 1 loving someone has a different meaning then being in love with someone. Loving anyone could be a parent or a brother or a sister, maybe even a friend. When you're in love with someone, they are your everything. They would do anything for them and never ask for anything in return. You always here of the girl who's scared to show her feelings and has no confidence. She is also love with her best friend. Well that girl is me. Joe and I have been best friends since 4th grade when he moved from New Jersey to California. I loved him since 5th grade. But I know all he sees in me is a friend. And you're probably thinking, how do you know if you've never asked him? Because he's in love with a different girl. Her name is Ashley. They've known each other since they were born. She's got what I dream of. As the school years flew by, Joe became my everything and even though he always talked about how in love he was in love with Ashley and was gonna marry her, I still had hope. After we graduated high school, we went to different colleges but kept our friendship. That's when Ashley came in. She was going to the same college. I was still devastated that he still never noticed me. And he never did. After a few years, I sat in the pew and watched my everything marry the love of his life. I didn't stay for the reception knowing it would cause more pain then necessary. They had their first child not too much later. They made me the god mother, to Ashley's dismay. She still hates me to this day. Then came another. They had the perfect family and they never fought. I kind of drifted out of the picture. He never returned my phone calls, never texted me, never came to see me, not even a simple happy birthday when it happened. He used to always wished me happy birthday at midnight. And then again when he saw me. And then again at the exact time I was born. Weirdo. But I missed my best friend deeply. When I was 27, I got a Devastating phone call from his younger brother Nick. They told me he was in the hospital but he didn't know why. All he knew what that his brother was in a coma. So, I flew to New Jersey to see him. It took days to figure out what was wrong with Joe. He had congestive heart failure and would need a new heart. I remember looking over at Nick to see his face drop, knowing his older brother could easily die. I sat on my bed in Nick's house thinking about this. I had a decision to make. And it wasn't going to be easy. After a month, things were settled. I was going to give my heart to Joe. My friends and family were devastated but understood my decision. Joe's family was very grateful. I spent the last couple days before the surgery thinking. I can't believe I was going to die. The day before the surgery I walked into Joe's room and sat next to him. I grabbed his hand and sighed.
"They said you can hear me." I said as I played with his fingers. "I wanted to let you know I've been in love with you for years. I knew you loved Ashley but I still hoped you'll love me back like I love you." I kissed him and started to leave. I turned around getting one more glimpse of him. And with a simple 'I love you' and left. I had trouble sleeping that night. But eventually did sleep. I felt Nick wake me up in the morning. He had made me a huge breakfast. His wife smiled at me and gave me a big hug. They were the ones taking me to the hospital. We ate together and we left. Once I was prepped for surgery, it was time to say my last goodbyes. I hugged Nick.
" Just remember I'll be watching you from up above" I said. He looked at me with sad eyes "I know. I just don't want you to leave. I'm not ready to say goodbye." he said. I gave him a last smile and hugged his wife. The doctor took me into the operating room and I got on the bed. I got the anesthesia and slowly drifted off. I took my last breath and shut my eyes for the very last time.
