  • This is just an animation. However SolidWorks does offer Nonlinear FEA in order to calculate spring stiffness during the animation. Nonlinear and Dynamic studies are included in SolidWorks Simulation Premium.

  • Spirals are a little more difficult. You may have noticed that I didn't use the helix feature to make this spring. You may be able to link the diameter dimension of the spiral to another dimension that is connected to a moving object. If I find time in the next few days I might try it and let you know.

  • Feel free to send me the model if you would like me to look at it. Dropbox may be a good way to get them to me if you have an account.

  • Thank you for your feedback. Feel free to send any questions. I'll do my best to answer them.

  • does solidworks contain realistic physics or is it just animation?

  • if u make the spring using a spiral how can i make it dynamic?

  • Hi, how do you update the spring everytime? It does not update automatically but only when I go to the sketch and then exit it.

    Thanks for the vid !

  • thnk u very very much! i want also to ask 1-2 questions when u have time :) thnx again
