Description:

This is a Work in Progress of the famous villa "Falling Water" by Architect Frank Lloyd Wright.

I've been trying to remake it as accurate as possible. I've started in April and I'm trying to finish it this summer. It started out as an experiment in the possibility of real-time Architectural Visualization in UDK. Which I still believe is possible. I've made the mistake of not making anything modular, even though that would have been really hard since the lack of any good blueprint of the building.
- Textures are custom made in Photoshop
- Models are made in 3ds MAX 2010
- There are a few standard things from UDK (i.e. some rocks, plants and the mangrove tree)
- Trees are made with SpeedTree (which comes with UDK)
The video above was recorded real-time with FRAPS in 1280x720 and 4xAA on an ATI radeon HD4850 and is running steady @ ~50 fps. I'll figure Matinee out when the thing is done ;)

  • Wat did he look round on? Is it a game?

  • @wilbo247: not yet, but it's a game environment. So yes, you're able to walk in and around it, but there's no interaction at the moment, it's just pretty :).

  • I want to have your babies. Fuck if I was that good with mapping lol...

  • @PootyHead: hahaha!! I can't even say just practice, because this is the first map I'm making. Just start by making things look good I guess :)

  • Awesome job. I can't wait to run in and blow this up with my Link Gun!!

  • @racer6489: too bad it's indestructable.

Maybe one day if I've got a really fast PC I'll concider fracturing the meshes and go for dynamic lighting!

  • IT LOOKS LIKE CRAP! >:O

Just kidding this is by far the best architectural work I've seen out of this engine.

    :)

  • Amazing model. Great work. Your textures and lighting look just perfect. I have used 3ds max for many years now, but have never moved it to UDK. I am going to try that. My son got me hooked on Minecraft. I use it just to model. I thought the game was perfect for a block for block version of FLW's Ennis House. I just posted a video if you care to check it out. Video Title: Minecraft - Sunrise at Ennis House" If you are familiar with the game you will understand the quality of lighting.
