  • Hi Donna, I made the muffins into banana bread instead and loved it, best banana bread I have ever made.

Do you have a recipe for pumpkin bread? I tried one from an old cook book, but it was very heavy and the top burned a little before the inside was done.

  • Hey there Laura!

Glad you liked this recipe. We eat it a lot since bananas tend to go 'brown' here pretty quick!

Pumpkin...hmmm...gonna have to look. I make up most of my stuff so....my rule of thumb would be similar to the above muffins, just replace banana mush with 1/2 cup of the pumkin puree and any spices with 1 tsp of pumkin pie spice. That's how I'd do it in the test kitchen (all my stuff's the test kitchen) If it starts looking brown tent with foil.

Let me know how it goes!

  • Hi Donna: I made banana muffins today using your recipe. They were delicious. I don't have a flour mill, although I bought 20lbs. of whole wheat flour from a mill in Lancaster, PA . Can i use this flour your pizza dough recipe? I know you had said you use a combination of flours. I plan on freezing the rest of the flour for future baking. I made the make a head muffins also.

Janet (your videos are very inspiring).

  • Hi Janet!

Sorry for the delay - computer was messed up!

Yes - you should be able to use the whole wheat you have for all the items I use fresh milled wheat for. The pizza crusts have some soft wheat (pastry wheat) in them but will work fine with what you have.

Thanks for asking, and for the encouraging comments!

    So glad you're here!

    Best Blessings!

    Donna
