THE MOBILE HOMELESS - USA

Since the beginning of the mortgage crisis one and a half million Americans have lost their homes. With banks repossessing their houses, many have been left no other option than to move into their cars.
The streets of California are now filled with people who call their car their home. Jennifer Clement, explains, "The estimated value of our house went to 120,000 U.S. dollars within a month. After losing all the money, we literally landed on the street and were forced to live in our caravan". It is a vicious circle: Without a job - no home. Without an home - no job.

If the mortgage crisis is so bad, why don't people just rent an apartment? There is that option too. But of course, the idea of not paying rent or mortgage is pretty sweet.

@theBCdream because most times they bought the house when there wasn't a crisis in sight & the economy was still very good.. i.e when you bought a house for 250k a few years back it's not very tempting to sell it at 150k today & go renting an apartment, also it will leave you with a 100k in debt at the bank..

wtf. In Britain we have council/social housing where ANYONE can get a flat/apartment. You never have to be on the street, you would get placed in a hostel/hotel/temp accomodation until a flat arises. Homelessness is not cool and affect the whole of society apart from the rich. EAT THE RICH.

iam shure that now that they are homeless..they wouldnt pass a credit check to get a apartment..after a forclosure ..get out of the south and move north where the work is..

ha you forgot the biggest issue getting fuel for a motor home is a major expence..i know couse i too have been homeless before in my motor home..

Well, you dont have to pay taxes for it. And because you haven't paid taxes for anything so far, you're on the street now :) The americans still think that taxes is money thats being dumped into a black hole. Nobody of them realizes that all money are wages for people. And they will never understand it even if they'd switch their brains on because they have been talked into a delusion for decades .
