A comedy/parody story of the young manny pacquiao back in the early days ( 2001 ) through the eyes of 2 young boys and 2 work colleagues.
( History) It all started when I went on vacation back home in the phils and I met this guy who works for my dad and has a funny resemblance to the young semi blondie Manny Pacquiao when he fought Ledwaba on june 23, 2001. Being a passionate aspiring filmmaker, it straight away flashed in my mind a short story. With no hesitation, I took out my cheap handheld camera ( canon hv40 ) and the rest was history.
The other scenes were shot here in the UK where I live. The 2 young boys ( Luke Barrios n Ralph Nipit ) are my godsons " inaanak " from Birmingham, Midlands who improvised most of their lines same as my 2 work colleagues ( Mark and Clayton ) who just happened to be rostered with me on a quiet saturday morning shift and coincidently I had my camera with me at that time, after annoyingly begging them to do some scenes for me they finaly agreed to do it just for the sake of shutting me up :)
They were also amazing as they also improvised their own lines.
Non of them are real actors or boxers and no prior preparations were done for the scenes, it was more on do this and do that and that was it...
Music was provided by my sisters spanish boyfriend Danny Marfil (Boggie and Don't think twice) and his friend Fran Navas ( Apaga el motor)
It's a zero budget improvised indie short film that I will be developing into a full length feature film without any budget....my quote: " shot and edit with what you have, your creativity will be your best tools "
A Million thanks to all those who were involved in the making of this parody short film, without you guys, this wouldnt have been made possible at all.
It's my first real short film so I hope you will all enjoy it and thank you.
