Maple Leaf Rag - Arthur Fiedler and the Boston Pops

This Track is from a hopelessly out of print Polydor LP/Cassette from 1974 called "Fiedler in Rags". This record was a wonderful release that contained some of the great classic Ragtime tunes which were preformed marvelously by Arthur Fiedler and the Boston Pops. This LP was produced during the heyday of the Fiedler era of the Boston Symphony Orchestra.

I cannot recommend this record enough.

"Fiedler in Rags" was produced mainly to capitalize on the popularity of the movie "The Sting" which featured Ragtime music in its soundtrack and reintroduced this musical genre to a new generation of movie goers.

Why Polydor (Deutsche Grammophon) has not re released this wonderful gem is beyond me. The original masters are probably still sitting in their vaults wasting away.

If you really want this album you can pick up an overpriced used LP or Cassette on Amazon or EBay.

If a member of Polydor or Deutsche Grammophon is watching this video. Please release this great album again to the public.

Actually, I got this on a CD that featured Joplin that was sold ad Border's in 2009.

A few years ago I searched all over the net for this and couldn't find it. My dad had this as an 8-track cassette for the car when I was a kid. My brother and I like, and listed to, the 8-track so much that my dad gave it away when he sold the car - LOLOL I hope to find it somewhere on CD as well. Am surprised it isn't already available in that format!
