  • Is Cosme the accompanist on this recording?

  • @kengriffithii I think so but I'm not 100% sure !

  • Damn! Didn't she ever hear her own recordings??

  • @TheFifingIrish I think not ! In a documentary I heard that she always made one take only when she recorded her pieces, she thought they were perfect from the first time !

  • She sings like a bird all right One stuck in a stickerbush!

  • Oh, jesus!! That's horrible! But it made me laugh... :D

  • I cannot say she sang fine ever, but i will always respect her for showing that courage to keep up no matter how criticized she was.

  • You can't blame her for not trying... and she had the financial means to pursue her dream, even though she was truly in la-la-land when evaluating her ability! Her accompanists were definitely patient souls, money or not.

  • śpiewaczka opadającej skali :D))

  • @AmiralPingouin She did and she liked them, she preferred them to those of famous singers.

  • @TheFifingIrish Yes she did and she liked them. I read that she played a game with her friends where she'd put her own recordings and those of Amelita Galli-Curci or other famous singers of the time and would ask her friends to vote which they liked best. Usually the friends would choose her, but one time one woman preferred Galli-Curci. Florence Foster-Jenkins said "How could you be so mistaken. Surely my tones are much fuller than that".

  • The diva of din
