Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise Have an Afterparty Date Night to Celebrate Her Big Premiere!

Katie Holmes is continuing the promotional tour for her film Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, and last night, she hit up the movie's big premiere in NYC. The actress chose a sweet but sexy LBD from her own Holmes & Yang line before walking the black carpet, and later joining husband Tom Cruise. PopSugar editor is bringing you the details on the couple's night out.

Tom and Katie landed in New York early yesterday morning, and they had a very long day in the city. They spent the afternoon with Suri before Katie went to her premiere, and even though Tom did not pose on the carpet with her, he was right by Katie's side and holding her hand as they went to the after-party dinner at Lincoln Center. Though both of them have been busy lately, they seem to work hard at making time for each other. They even hit up a Katy Perry concert together on Sunday, so they still manage to squeeze in date nights.

Katie was just on Jay Leno last week to talk up the movie, and as for Tom, Rock of Ages has been keeping him on the go. We already caught a first glimpse at the actor's ripped physique for the movie, and Katie told Access Hollywood that she clearly likes the transformation.

"I think it's terrific. It's very rock star, he's a rock star."

Tom and Katie will be staying in New York for at least a little while longer while she finishes up a few of her press duties for Don't Be Afraid of the Dark. She's sitting down with reporters today for the press junket, and we'll see her on Jimmy Fallon later tonight as well.

In the horror film, Katie plays a woman who moves into an old Gothic mansion with her boyfriend and his young daughter, and the little girl mistakenly unleashes evil creatures in the house. The movie was produced and written by Guillermo del Toro — the same mastermind behind Pan's Labyrinth. It comes to theaters August 26.
