  • So is this just using chroots?

  • If you just do chroot for Android, it won't work at all. Our architecture is much more complex and involves how to handle all the input / output peripherals.

  • @HandiGandy Wait, so it's not like that Parallels software for Macbook?

  • Do the two operating systems have to be ChromeOS and Android? For example could I have Android and MeeGo?

  • @PhantomAct You can in a way, if you have a large enough laptop ( generally 1G or more of memory ).Here is what I did to a desktop. First I got fed up with Windows because I got a virus. It wasn't because of the virus, but the reaction to it when I tried to remove it. I got advice from a lot of people who were telling me to run programs without telling me what the programs were doing. I said "this is like the old IBM mainframe priesthood" and went Linux.

I put XP on a VirtualBox VM.

  • Wow! Can I do that on my old XP laptop? I just want to switch between XP and Linux until I know enough Linux to ditch Windows completely. Thanks

  • Is the other OS active when it's in the background? Is this technology also open source?

  • the only thing i can think of is that the dm is virtualized, possibly using lxc.
