  • Yeah agreeing with "360..." the leg isnt suppose to be just floating there. The leg is suppose to be on the hip to prevent the first pass you did. Like he said not bashing it,but he didn't have a proper rubber guard in

  • @Ohnoplata12 Thanks for the comment and I definitely understand the point you're making. How can I be showing a rubber guard pass if the rubber guard isn't even applied correctly? The reality of the technique is that the foot on the hip actually makes it easier to pass as the guard is already open at that point and there is a bigger space on that side (regardless of how tightly the bottom man squeezes his knee). Remember, this pass is very effective even against the closed guard.

  • his foot has to be on your hip, squezzing his knees together. preventing the pass.

this is a big step missing. if anyone knows rubber guard well , they put the foot on the hip first, because if you don't you're getting passed on.

getting into half guard doesn't really matter to someone who's good at it because they'll still clear the neck and go forth.

i don't want you to think i'm talking trash, i just know the foot is on the hip for this very reason.

  • I like this! This is a great pass for standard Mission Control and New York positions. Like I said in the other video beware of the guard player using the Meat Hook to attack and control that side of the body, also a tight Double Bagger is going to make it hard if not impossible to get that leg to the floor.

But yes, this is THE most functional video on passing/breaking/snapping rubber guard I've seen to date. Keep it up!

  • @LHSStuntman

    Thanks. I appreciate it.

  • The moment he grabs the right leg with his hands this wont work, and almost always should you do that to prevent such a pass from happening

  • Hmmm It could work in a flash in like a scramble. but sir the 100% sweep is there you'll get tapped

  • Did you guys not see my beautiful calf muscle? I am "leg curling", which is a viable alternative to putting the foot on the hip.

  • @threesixtybikeshop I def see what your saying, and I thought the same thing when I first worked with 10th planet guys because thats how people would always escape my rubber guard. But, your first move was to step over, which you wouldnt be able to do as easily as you show if the foot is on the hip.Thats a fact. But,that is the weeker side of that guard that you could escape from.Additionally, that is a basic rubber guard, you should check out the invisible collar. Thanks for the response

  • @threesixtybikeshop When you switch your hips for the pass it negates the foot pressure.
