Credit of course goes to Madame Buryotti for the recipe.

1/3 packet of butter
1 glass milk
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 cups self raising flour
4 large eggs
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
and a partridge in a pear tree

For the topping:
100g Bournville chocolate
a little milk.

If you make this cake, be sure to post a video response so I can see how it turned out!

  • can i use another chocolate like dairymilk?

  • I've never tried that but I think it has to be a dark chocolate. Dairymilk is too much sugar and milk. The recipe works best with Bournville (which is 39% cocoa solids).
