  • Ok, LOL, this was training. No blue chucks in the field. This was in the states. We were learning to give each other IV's and the soldier that was working on my arm forgot to occlude my vein and some blood came out. And that NPA was put in my nose mind you...LOL.

  • We didn't even use the chucks in the field or during trauma lanes. NPAs suck soo much

  • @SUPxSARAHH NPA (nasal pharyngeal airway); civilian EMT-B training includes this as well. You stick it in the person's nose if they require assistance breathing and have a functional gag reflex (i.e. you can't use the OPA - oropharyngeal airway).
