Medics Series 1 and 2 DVDs are both out on 21st June 2010

http://www.networkdvd.net/product_info.php?products_id=1156 and http://www.networkdvd.net/product_info.php?products_id=1157

The first series stars Peter Wingfield (Holby City, 24) with guest appearances from Amanda Burton, Gina McKee, Mark Jordon and Bert Kwouk.

At the Henry Park Hospital, in the north west of England, a hardworking team of doctors, nurses and administrative staff face a barrage of personal and professional challenges. Pushed to their physical and emotional limits by long hours and ever-increasing pressure, accusations of negligence, drug addiction and mismatched relationships are just some of the problems they must overcome.

A commendably realistic drama focusing on the everyday lives of the staff and patients at the Henry Park Hospital, a fictional teaching hospital in the north west of England, Medics ran for five highly successful series between 1990 and 1995.

The second series sees two new characters joining the regular cast: Doctor Who legend Tom Baker is Geoffrey Hoyt, a colourful, eccentric and largely good-humoured professor of surgery, while Sue Johnston (Brookside, Waking the Dead) is beleaguered administrator Ruth Parry, who is forced into making some tough decisions -- and a number of enemies -- in her ongoing struggle to control expenditure. The series also features Jimmi Harkishin (Coronation Street), Peter Wingfield (24) and Hugh Quarshie (Holby City).
