So my little high school did a live stage adaptation of Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog! Our film person recorded it and so I am putting it on youtube. I am the assistant director and I play Dr. Horrible in this, and yes, I know, my voice sounds TERRIBLE. But I thought I'd upload it here onto youtube, so I hope you enjoy it.

Naru - Dr. Horrible/Billy, Assistant Director

**We signed a contract and payed for the rights to perform this and use the music for our production. The script and music belong to Joss Whedon**

  • The guy who plays Dr. Horrible is great. There isn't as much movement a there could be, and some of the vocals are out of sync with the music, but it's impressive for a high school production.

  • @katwithoutagrin Haha, thank you very much ^^; I'm glad my performance impressed! We did our best with what we had as far as the vocals went xD

  • I really admire your theater company. Something like this is hard to pull off, and you guys did it perfectly! The two stages, and live video feed was ingenious. The casting was great too!

  • @tehKOREANdude haha, thanks. We're not a theater company though, it was just a high school drama production. I'm glad you enjoyed it though!

  • I love the overture! Very nice blend of the last number and the original opening theme!

  • @ThePhantomAlchemist Its off the original soundtrack ^^

  • @Cubanz1224 Well they were supportive when I did get in contact with them however I couldn't find a time that worked out with my school to perform it. I thought about doing it later and found out about how they were weren't giving the option. I then contacted them again and asked if that applied to me since I had asked so far in advance and they responeded that unfrtunately yes but that thy thanked me for checking in with them instead of just going with it anyway

  • @royalport2 Did they let you purchase the rights? I know it's a few months later, but their site says they aren't giving anyone the option for an undisclosed amount of time

  • Hey, I'm really hoping my high school could perform a stage adaptation of this play too. Did you guys need to get the rights before performing this play? Because I want my school to do it in a drama competition, and they will require us to have performance rights to it.

If you could help, that'd be freaking awesome. Thanks so much!

  • Very well done! The actor playing Dr. Horrible is perfect for the role! Great singing, sets and acting :)

  • I have to admit, the guy playing Dr. Horrible was excellent. I watched the Cornell production too and this was better!

  • @hotgirls12345678910 Well, now I actually have been in contact. Yes you do need permission. Thanks for trying to help though

  • @royalport2 Not to inturrupt or anything, but it's a drama thing, I think that's how they did it. I don't think you need permission for things like that as long as everybody knows you don't own it.
