Professoranton might be a secret genius. Great vid though.

Heinrich Zimmer was introduced to me by our Myth master John David Ebert. If you like his book you should also see his lectures on Zimmer at his youtube channel. Practically a whole course on the subject!

Mind = blown.

Nothing, to the contrary, is observed continuously. Without the creative void as a baseline and a reference, the "absoluteness" of existence would be meaningless.
In fact, the only "constant" in our existence IS nothingness.
Time is the "spacer" (in a temporal sense) that provides the sequence within nothingness for that which exists. Possibilities are the "creative" potential of the void to accept and allow manifestations of our reality.
These are related by and through our conscious awareness.

Yaknow stringing words together in a seemingly coherent manner does not make you a poetic genius, nor does it make you an intellectual.

The real zen moment for me in the video was when you said "Not all possibilities will be actualized" and the paradoxical 2D object popped up on the screen. I think that visual plus those words were more powerful then you think.

This is an excellent video. Thank you very much for posting it. I've been wrestling with "Being and Nothingness" for over a year now, and your videos have really helped me make sense of it. Thanks for making such an "obscure," elusive "notion" intelligible.

isn't it fitting that there was "The Prestige" here just televised... there is something of nothing in everything. i've recently re-watched (by idle re-stumble) a talk by penrose where he is proposing that in order for universe to "smoothly" bounce at the end of infinity there really is a need for informational discontinuity inside of black holes. two most recent ones under roger on pirsa. org.
It seems that inside of Man there is a hole of the size of All That Is.

great vid, but i dont get the connection between what Sartre calls imagination, that is the ability to relate to what is not the case, and nothing as the shoreless sea. In what is metaphysics Heidegger talks about how nothing is the origin of negation. Is it because we hold "something" up against baing-nothingsness in the Heideggererian sense? If you answered it I'm sorry but I'm lost here. If being is no-thing, then of cource thought is also nothing, but they seem to be different nothings

The expression is "the vast desert of the shoreless sea."

People often say: "I don't believe it until I see it."

They also often say, "Things were not what I thought they'd be." They do not say, "I foolishly took my thoughts as other than nothing."
