'Donald MacLean's Farewell to Oban' & 'Irene Meldrum's Welcome To Bon Accord' from about 1984. Not a commercial recording (taped of the radio years ago.) Comprising mostly the Marwicks brothers, I don't think they were The Amazing Spootiskerry Ceilidh Band at this stage - although they were indeed amazing.

  • Just wonderful, I'd love to make an idiot of myself trying to dance to that!

Many thanks. Question, has Hebredean Psalm singing got any connection to American Sacred Harp Singing?

  • @SailingCartagena I'm sure you wouldnt make an idiot of yourself . If I can do it anyone can!. I don't know anything about American Sacred Harp Singing so I can't really comment on that. Thanks for your note and question SailingCartagena

  • Another good one, great music. I keep finding wee gems in your collection. Thanks.

  • You are welcome indeed, Dunollieman.

  • I love web pages like this. No mean comments, no swearing, just people with awesome music enjoying themselves.

  • Och, I knew THAT :-)

  • Eh, just joking there, Iain! :-) : -) : -)

  • I don't think there'd be much left of my wee boat (if I had one) if I ever went out in weather like that! I lie the picture though -it's the "safe" option :-)

  • This sure livens up my evening, Iain! Now I'm wondering were you out there in a wee boat getting that spray dashed pic of the cliffs at Eshaness, besides posting the fine music for us?

  • Hello Uistman59,

Do you know where I can get a CD of the Spotiskerry Band.

    Regards

    Gerald
