Excellent presentation. We appreciate your efforts.

@sjh7132 The new fermi tesla cards support 64 bit float. (Google for Fermi Whitepaper) However they are quite expensive and I think 64bit is disabled if you use a consumer card (such as the GTX 480) I'm also not sure about the OF support for GPUs, but I think there are people working on ways to solve the linear system on GPUs..

What hardware did you use?

i see in test 6 your wings were around 45 degrees was this the most efficient angle and if so please can you tell me the exact degrees of your wing thanks andrew.

@camomantube I'd have to dig this one out of the archives to find out because I did this sim a long time ago. But Lynx Steam (Marcus) has since moved on to lift vawts because he wasn't happy with the power from this mode. See vawts dot net for his latest work. (His latest one is called the Challenger.)

What solver and turbulence model did you use for this simulation?

@lordvon64
icoDyMFoam, which is laminar flow. It's not 100% accurate (simulated power is a little high), but I'm still learning about turbulence models and how to mesh them.
