Stephen Colbert was called as an expert witness after working one day as a farm worker in upstate New York. Will Stephen Colbert's appearance before Congress make a difference in the contentious US debate about the employment of illegal immigrants in farm work? • I would love to this man as our president.

  • @munoz1205 - That is my point! We have enough problems in the states that we don't need Mexico's problems as well. Not every one who jumps the fence is an innocent farmer who justs wants to feed his family. The Mexican gangs dominate the drug trade here in America as well as the sex slave trade. In the past five months over 42,000 illegals were caught at the border who were convicted criminals, and those are only the ones we caught... In five months!

  • Stephen Colbert shouldn't have lost to Barry Manilow...

  • @savage02081 Americans would do it, but those that should are paid to do nothing... The answer is to send a bus round drop them off and tell them if they accept it they've a new job picking fruit. Informing them that if they refuse they lose all welfare...

I'm philosophical anti-welfare, yet practically speaking I think the only way to end mass illegal immigration & unemployment is end minimum wage and instead subsidise low wages for citizens aka a Milton Friedman style negative income tax..

  • How many of you dumb fucks realize, that the reason why most USA citizens won't do these jobs because the pay is so low? You know why they are so low? Because illegals take those jobs for that pay. So what happens when millions more illegals flood the country and now want the jobs that you have? They take those jobs and lower the wages, and now you have a job that pays shit. There are plenty of citizens who would take those jobs if they paid enough for a person to take care of a family.

  • no way americans are going to pick their own freaking crops! Thats the reason we are getting so fat!!! Seriously its disgusting get in shape!

Over the last few weeks ICE has issued “notices of inspection” to Chipotle Mexican Grill, the popular fast-food burrito chain, at about 60 of its restaurants in VA and WA, D.C. The “notices of inspection” are warnings to the restaurant-chain that ICE will be conducting Form I-9 audits. ICE audited roughly 50 Chipotle restaurants in MN at the end of last year. That audit resulted in the dismissal of hundreds of employees.

How about we come current with Chipotle restaurants? They KNOWINGLY hired HUNDREDS of illegals & have recently been busted for their doing so. The illegals, on suspect identification (if not stolen), were fired.

  • I love how Stephen is willing to step out of character to make a valid point about the rights of migrant workers. It's nice to know that behind "Stephen Colbert", there's a genuinely nice man who cares about his fellow man. Stewart/Colbert 2010! =)
