My version of 'Early One Morning', a traditional English folk song first published in 1787, but possibly predating that date by centuries (music and lyrics of unknown origin).

Also known as 'The Lamenting Maid' or 'The Lovesick Maid', I first became aware of the song via Roger Whittaker's cover of it on his 'Live from Kitchener' album (in fact, it's from his abridged lyrics I draw from), and as the theme for Bob Homme's CBC series 'The Friendly Giant'.

Accompanied by my Makala soprano ukulele, in glorious HD.

  • @headcans There once was a man who traversed the desert. After two days without water, he came upon an oasis. He leaned above its edge, and took a sip from it. A moment later, he spit the water he'd consumed from his mouth, exclaiming in disgust, 'This isn't natural Artesian water. It is therefore unworthy of my body.'

Two days later, he died of thirst. The End.
