  • Whether correct technique or not it sounds fantastic. I always think that if something sounds good who should say it's not right!

  • Wonderful...yes, we know what is and isn't proper conga technique, meaning what part of the hand to use to strike the hide with, but the musicianship is so high here, that it gets cancelled out. I'm sure Hermeto Pascoal would approve...

    You can turn the Pearl Travel heads over, and with them between the knees get a pretty hip bongo sound, using fingertips and the side of the thumb...another incorrect technique....but I've been jamming with Bebo Valdez on solo piano...and he doesn't seem to mind.
