Hey, I like your approach. You and anyone who knows anything can see it in real time! One thing w/ Ammons(and a few others) though, is that they had alot of experience playing 5 pedal pianos. That's not a myth. So they have a complicated piano that has a quasi drum effect + what I've heard called a 'mandolin' effect. I don't hear it in those terms, but it's definitely different. Either way, I like how you approached the left - it's different too. & still has soul- most important!!!

crazy snaps dad.

Nicely done, stizel.
Apart from split-second-stops, as you've mentioned yourself, everything's really going great for you.
It's a pleasure seeing your powerful left hand, since I know that this particular Ammons tune is quite merciless.
Referring to the previous comments about "speed-up", I know it isn't, but your tremolos are in my opinion quite "supernatural", impressive. I didn't quite figure that part out yet!
Anyways, great working-edition-video!
Cheers and best wishes,
Lasse

Your an awsome boogiest stilzelrump. I'm just wondering why my ammons recording of boogie woogie stomp is related to this....
Hey, cool record! Especially with the unusual bass line ... Do you happen to have a record where Ammons actually used this bass line? Admittedly, I only know of renditions where he uses his chorded walking bass (which he also employs in Shout For Joy and B/W Stomp, among others).

As Colin Davey explained in his transcript of the Stomp it's a bit of a mystery what Ammons left really played at the end. Even in the famous Boogie Woogie Dream clip it's hard to tell what Ammons left plays EXACTLY in the last full chorus. I think it's not a chorded walking bass.
Even if Ammons would have played my bass line it would have sounded quite different, since I am not Albert - nobody is !

in the beginning it was a little bit messy and at 2:44 the timing was weird but for the rest a good swing ! :)

Thanks, I would even say that five or six times I needed a split of a second to figure out what to play next. I recorded it a bit in a hurry since I had to return the tripod I borrowed. A working version indeed.

Well Considering I have 8 Billboard top ten hits...I would say my ears smoke
over yours...If you look at the video in the very begining you can see the
hands shake in an un natural way. Not 30 frames per sec. SPED UP! Lets you
leave this comment up for "amusement" now!

Of course I will leave this comment up. For amusement and to show that ignorance has no limits. And believe it or not - I can shake my hands faster than that without having to speed up anything. And about our ears - let's leave it to others to decide which ears don't smoke...
