Please be informed:
that as of 7 November 2008, the Bank of New Zealand has declared itself NOT bound by its public promises and Customer Charters any more made to 1 Million BNZ customers.
This statement was made on 7 November 2008 via BNZs legal representative and Law Firm Bell Gully of Auckland in pending proceedings currently before the Court of Appeal CA76/08.

This statement is in stark contradiction to the Bankers Code of Conduct that the Bank of New Zealand is obliged to uphold.
The Banks Management and Law Firm were immediately contacted to this effect seeking confirmation of their statement. No reply was provided.
Bank of New Zealand has withdrawn from the promises made in its the Customer Charter which was legally the guiding document for all its banking customers, depositors and International Investors to maintain confidence and trust in the Bank.
To the knowledge of the authors, no mass advertisement or any advertising material has been published to this effect. No Notice has been given to those affected BNZ customers who are left misinformed about these important changes.
