Or if they're 3x bigger than you they put you in a head lock fall back on purpose, and you might as well tap out. But it does work on the inexperienced

@suarneduj ru serious tlkin abt underestimating a kick there. dude wt is rong wt u??? its not about underestimating the kick. u know it - if u gt hit there thats it - !!!
-
@drunkonlove actually if you get(your hips/flank) low enough and drive with your legs...you can lift a guy TWICE your size pretty easily....if he doesn't sprawl of course.
that's why its a quick power takedown...your opponent is overwhelmed and his being bigger will mean shit....he'll still be put on his back by this move.
taller, bigger people have a higher center of gravity and are easier to leverage a takedown on.
this should work....if he doesn't sprawl.

This is with the assumption I guess that the opponent is same size or smaller. I wouldn't call this high percentage.

@IMA1995 Yeah you have right. Aikido,Judo and Gracie Brazilian Jiu Jitsu are hard to deal with grabs and takedowns. It's very difficult to do something like this to a person who is skilled in martial arts like the 3 i refered! But for everyday people it's ok . I am trying now Krav Maga. I think it's very good for the street self defense.!!!

Sometimes expert village stuff is a little remedial, but this is really practical. As far as the judo comments go, it's harder to pull off without Gi or when people are punching you. Hence why UFC is a lot of singles & doubles!
-
@IMA1995 well yeah but in this scenario, the person is punching so he won't have time to do the judo move you're talking about.
-
this takedown is a good start, but fights never go as planned. you should show a couple of alternatives.

@jkd4life1 is Australia they still categorise self defence into a 'reasonable amount of force' which is very subjective in our courts unfortunately.
-
@jkd4life1 All of that is correct except for the "initial aggressor" part. Under self defense you are actually allowed to take the first strike or to "pre-empt" an attack if you feel that you are threatened or will come under attack from someone.

Actually, to be accurate, "if you do that [double leg takedown] to someone trying to punch you" and he injures his head, and he sues you or you are tried in criminal court, you could raise the privilege of self defense and avoid liability and punishment, if your conduct was reasonablely necessary to defend yourself.
Manslaughter would only apply if the person died and still the privilege of self-d would apply.
For self-d privilege to apply don't be the initial aggressor.
