Councilmember Parks seconded a motion by Councilmember Jan Perry that would establish an ordinance that prohibits all new fast food restaurants from opening on all Major Highway Class I, Major Highway Class II and Secondary streets designated in the West Adams- Baldwin Hills- Leimert, South Los Angeles and Southeast Los Angeles Community Plans. The reason for this ordinance is to ease the proliferation and over concentration of fast food restaurants in certain areas of the City because of the many social, economic, environmental problems that occur as a result of these businesses.
