This video was shot in the Bahamas in October 2009. It shows Simon Borg-Olivier slowing his heart beat from 88 to 32 beats per minute in 45 seconds. Thanks to Freediving world record holder William Truebridge for teaching the technique, and thanks to static apneoa national record holder Glenn Venghaus for use of his heart monitoring equipment and his learned advice.

@CFinlayson55 His heart didn’t "basically stop beating", it just beat slower. Fit athletes can have a resting heart rate lower than this by the way

btw... holding your breath increases the heart rate, so he is definitley not doing that, just to be clear on that.

It is a trick. I know how he does it... and I am not telling anyone. Why? Because I am a bossssss.
By the way... seriously how on earth do you think any human being can do that? Your heart rate while sleeping is between 64 and 52 bpm. Especially the part at the end where he just openes his eyes as if nothing happened is a joke. Bro your heart basically stopped beating.

@smeahzidente Okay, well, if you'd like to offer to a scientific journal evidence of chakras and nadis, be my guest. Otherwise, shut the fuck up.

@jamesaddison81 If you take your pulse, then take long deep breaths, you'll notice your heart naturally slows on the exhalation and naturally picks up on the inhale. Cool, huh? Pranayama is pretty amazing, but it's hard to tear apart what really works with what's actually just religious nonsense.
