@SubconsciousGatherer Thanks for comment. Here's more explanation of Jesus and his purpose. Big difference: Buddha taught a way of release from suffering caused by attachment; Jesus died and resurrected so as to reconcile us to God. Buddha's realization was that we are anatman; Christ said that he came to bring us eternal life. You're right, Christ's teachings are incoherent apart from his actions. They are what saves us. His teachings show our need for his actions, and then make sense.

It's interesting to note that Buddha came along so much earlier that Christ, yet Christ (assuming for the moment he was real) could not even outdo Buddha in terms of insightful teaching. Buddha gave it to you straight, whereas Christ spoke in silly parables, none of which are terribly inspiring or profound, and some which were down right foolish.
