  • I'm doing the 30ds too! I'm doing the 30ds in the mornings, and then going on a run/walk (running for a mile and a half and then walking home) in the evenings for extra cardio, because I agree...the video is mostly for toning and strength, not cardio. As for the weights, I'd do the 5 lb ones. Even when women have bulked up arms, it usually looks okay, because women don't get huge muscles like guys. Plus you're gonna need bulked up arms to carry Oliver around as he gets heavier, lol.

  • Unless you have a predisposition for muscular arms, you probably don't need to worry about bulking up. It's rather hard for most women to build muscle--I for one couldn't bulk up if I tried!

  • I've done the 30 day shred twice. It really didn't do anything for me. I used 5 lb weights and 8 lb weights.

  • I think you'd have to be lifting quite a bit more than 5lbs to see any significant muscle gains

  • Why don't you just alternate the weights on different days. Like 3lb weights four times a week, and 5lb weights 3 times a week.. since you feel like one is not enough and the other too bulking.
