A video I made about Foster Parrots in MA and RI. These guys really are amazing. If you are ever looking for a good cause to donate to, please consider them.

Please note that I strongly believe parrots do NOT make suitable pets. They are essentially wild animals that belong in the wild. I am against breeding and the sale of birds for the pet trade. Unfortunately, just because they are born in captivity does not mean they are not wild animals- it just means they cannot survive in the wild. Breeders who say they are preserving species by breeding are not telling the truth. How many breeders release their birds into the wild? None. They are only ensuring that more and more parrots will be showing up in more and more rescues/shelters and sanctuaries across the country. These animals were not meant to be in our homes- they were meant to be flying free in the wild. If you would like a parrot as a pet, please do extensive research beforehand and ADOPT ONLY! There are WAY too many unwanted and perfectly wonderful parrots in need of good homes. Jasper, Oscar and Charlie were all adopted and they are amazing, lovable, extraordinary creatures. • THE SPINX MACAW IS STILL HERE!!!My friend has 2 and she is breeding them to give to sencuaries and to set them free.I know several ppl

  • @SpyroandCyndersfan It's extinct in the wild. A bird that exists only in captivity is still extinct in the wild. There is a sheik in Quatar who breeds them, but what difference does it make if they don't exist in the wild?

  • @july7nyc Actually some do now

  • @SpyroandCyndersfan No, they don't. Sanctuaries are not allowed to set them free. Birds born in captivity cannot survive in the wild. There has never been a successful reintroduction of captive-born parrots into the wild. Either your friend doesn't know what she is talking about or she is flat-out lying.

  • @Radistochka So you have a quarter parrot

  • @Radistochka Hi, I just want to say that, if your parrot is the same parrot that Monster, it is an Argentinian Parrot, I just cant believe that it could be one in Russia, it very amazing to me, and really worring too. Im from Argentina, that why I know them, if the parrot have confidence whit you, keep it for you, and don´t worry, they addap to any weather if they are properly feed. Take care of one our nacional symbols!!!!

  • I agree so much with the philosophy here. There is a big bird store near me, THOUSANDS of birds for sale...then they have this room way at the back of the store for "consignment" parrots - meaning they have been dumped there by their owners to be put up for sale. You walk by their cages and they talk to you, put their little feet out between the bars, desperate for contact, attention, love - it's heartbreaking. Makes me FURIOUS.

  • when i first saw this a couldnt stop pushing the like button. i cant beleive how people treat these poor birds. they treat them like there nothing!!!! its so sad:(

  • @Radistochka God bless you for being so kind. I wish there were more kind people like you in the world.

  • @Radistochka No, please don't let him free. It's very dangerous and the parrot would die. They need to be with other parrots of their own kind to live wild. He will not know how to get food or avoid danger and if he did not die from no food, he would probably get eaten by a hawk or other predatory animal. He seems to like you and you are treating him well so just continue what you are doing. Make sure to give him fresh fruit and vegetables. They love apples. :)
