I need to see this play a couple of times every year to feel my broken soul revive again, unite what I left and what I found, what I could have been and what I became, because de soul than seems to heal a bit and become quiet. but if M could come back to life I'm sure that his first love Georgia would be the one for him. He needs someone more fragile than him so that they can grow strong together. G only really expresses any affinity for him.

And then, of course, there's Georgia who poses the problem of mental and physical isolation, as well as freedom.

On second thoughts, maybe N should have imprisoned M in some way. He had more chance of happiness than G. God this film is so complex. It's one of the best I've seen for a while.

We're so absorbed by M that we forget that he might have killed G or someone like G had he stayed alive and that would have been 'better' for G as I've explained in a previous post.

She has to beg N to let her go and then he puts her in prison. Like the characters in the film for hours after I was so absorbed by M's tragedy that you don't see how G's tragedy is neglected. How can people like that achieve happiness? They want freedom with non-violable rules they can understand.,

I should say 'freed' spirit. Freed from the complexity of living.

M, N and his girlfriend G are all concerned about injustice. But M&G are extreme, they briefly recognise their similarity when they meet. They can't take the bad with the good. I thought M's end was deeply tragic but you can't imprison a person for their safety. G eventually becomes a zombie, a shadow of herself, when N gets her imprisoned whereas M, in a way, is released by death. The two most adaptable people get together in the end because of the blessing of M's 'free' spirit.

I didn't realise when I started watching the film that it would be of epic proportions. At some point it came too much to bear but as life does so the film goes on and it's beautiful monument to the complexity of life. I went thro' all sorts of emotions watching it but finally I feel better for having watched it.

Just a small point- u don't need to tell us that pt 37 is the final. It's nicer if the end just comes to u without warning. I didn't know the film was 6hrs and it's better not to know
